You must login before you can access this page

We will learn more about the 'Classroom' page later (See 'Your Classroom'). Please click on the 'Lesson tab' (in the top right-hand corner of the screen). |
Clicking on the 'Lesson' tab will bring you to the page below. As you can see on the left, you can find lessons to suit your needs, but we will get to that later (See 'Lesson Search Engine'). On the right is a list of all the different types of lessons available: Comprehension, Creative Clinic, General Clinic, Written, and Listening (and the grammar newsletters and pronunciation guides). By the right of each title is the number of lessons of that type that are available in the archive. Let's click on "Comprehension"...

When you click on a lesson title you will be taken to the 'master page' for that type of lesson. Below is the 'Comprehension master page'. This contains a list of all the "Comprehension" lessons in the archive, in date order (the most recent first). On the left is the lesson ID number (meaning 'identification' number). Every lesson in the archive has a unique number so that you can find it easily (See 'Lesson Search Engine'). In the next column are all the titles of all the lessons. By searching the newsletters for that week you will find more information about what is in the lesson. In the next column is the date that the lesson was posted on the website by an administrator. The next column tells you the lesson type (in this case "Comprehension") and the last column tells you how much it will cost to buy in Credits. If the lesson is posted during your time as a member, it will be free. You need to click on the title of the lesson to continue to the next page.

| To the right is the 'lesson purchase page'. You will only see this if you are trying to access a lesson that wasn't posted during your time as a member of Learn Articulate English. To buy the lesson you need to click on "Purchase" at the bottom-right of the page. | ![]() |
![]() |
When you click on "Purchase" you will be taken to the 'purchase confirmation page'. Click on "Purchase Lesson" to confirm you want to buy the lesson. |
| If it's all gone right you will be shown this confirmation message for a few seconds before the lesson appears. | ![]() |

After a few seconds, the lesson should appear. At the top is a list of words (vocabulary) that students might be less familiar with. Students will learn the use of these words, as these are words that will appear in the lesson and will be explained or expressed in a different way by an administrator. You will not only learn the meaning of these words, but how they are used in real sentences, with real purpose. |
| Quite often a lesson is based on an article found freely on the Internet. The link is provided on this page. If you click on it the article will appear in a new tab in your browser. Below that is a quick summary of all the questions asked in the "Comprehension" lesson. If you click on any of the questions it will take you further down the page to the "Questions and Responses" section where you can see the answers, ask a question, or submit a response of your own. | ![]() |
Above is part of a question summary. Below is the "Questions and Responses" section. As you can see, the administrator has submitted an answer to the question. If you don't understand something about that question or response you can ask by clicking on "Post a response", then write it in the box and send it. If there was no answer there, you could submit your own (again by clicking "Post a response").

The administrator reviews all responses and questions and will post those that are relevant and useful to the lesson. |
"Comprehension" is your chance to really understand text. So long as the lesson is still "active" you can keep asking questions and learning from the lesson by participation, a little at a time. When the lesson is "archived" it means the administrator is no longer posting work and questions from the students; it also means that the lesson is full and complete and students will now be able to review all the principles of the lesson at once.
